SUMMARY

Under general supervision, this individual is responsible for the manual and clerical work related to receipt, storage, maintenance, and issuance of tools, materials, and equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Responsible for the prompt and efficient handling of materials kept in the Maintenance Garage storeroom.

 

Receive and receipts for materials returned to stock.

 

Check incoming materials and supplies against invoices, trade tickets, bills of lading, or purchase orders.

 

Fill requisitions for supplies.

 

Assist in taking physical inventory and in the maintenance of a perpetual inventory.

Clean and mop premises and arrange stock on shelves or in bins.

Check stock on hand and make up stock reports covering materials that are running low.

Keep records of supplies disbursed and the person or equipment using same.

Pick up and deliver parts as needed.

Perform related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to use adding machine and calculator.

 

Two (2) years prior knowledge of automobile parts and mechanic equipment.

Ability and willingness to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to make repairs of minor nature to hand tools and small parts.

General computer knowledge.

Ability to read, write, add, and subtract. Ability to compare parts correctly.

Ability to Lift 50 lbs.

 

Regular prompt attendance is an essential function to this position.

 

The ability to get along and promote a harmonious working environment with vendors, supervisors, citizens, and co-workers is an essential function of this position.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERI ENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License. May require a CDL.
