SUMMARY
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for general mechanical work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Repair and maintenance of golf carts and assist in maintenance of automobiles, trucks, tractors, and equipment. Perform basic duties such as tire changes, tire repair, oil/filter changes, belt changes, and basic auto repair
- Road test vehicles and golf carts.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Some knowledge of preventative maintenance of equipment and vehicles. Ability to learn minor vehicle and equipment repair.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical defects and determine appropriate maintenance. Regular prompt attendance is an essential function to this position.
- The ability to get along and promote a harmonious working environment with vendors, supervisors, citizens, and co-workers is an essential function of this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to two months
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Louisiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B with airbrake and passenger endorsements within six months of employment.
